A Poem by Zakariya Sokora
I am a philosopher.
Philosophy is my religion,
My beloved,
The breath inside my breath .
I sense it in silence,
I walk in it way,
I see beauty in it eyes,
I hear sound in its ear,
I navigate wisdom
Through its vast hearts and minds.
Philosophy was my first school,
And it will be the end .
I sleep with philosophy,
I wake with philosophy,
I dine with it,
I starve with it –
It is my companion in plenty and in absence.
Philosophy is my beginning,
My journey, My end.
Even in death,
My grave shall echo with philosophy.
A man is nothing without a wife,
And I am nothing without philosophy.
And with it , I am everything- eternally.
